Mrs. Nyantiop Martha Agoot

Mrs. Nyantiop Martha Agoot, is a distinguished economist with over 15 years experience in Macroeconomic Planning and Public Finance. She currently serves as the Director of Economic Development, Research, and Statistics at the Ministry of Finance and Planning in the Republic of South Sudan.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Agoot has been pivotal in shaping national economic policies and the highlights of her professional background include:

  • Leadership in Economic Development: Formulating and coordinating fiscal and monetary policies in collaboration with developmental partners and the Bank of South Sudan.
  • Research and Policy Formulation: Developing macro-fiscal frameworks to support effective programming and monitoring economic performance against regional criteria.
  • Board Governance: Serving as Secretary for the Board of Directors at the South Sudan Revenue Authority, where she ensured effective governance and compliance.

Mrs. Agoot holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi.  In addition, she has completed specialized training in Corporate Governance, Fiscal Sustainability, and Public Investment Management.

With her immense contextual experience, strong leadership and analytical capabilities, Mrs. Agoot is well-positioned to drive the Bank’s growth and ensure its entrepreneurial strategies create sustainable value for shareholders. Furthermore, her leadership will be instrumental in helping the business achieve financial inclusivity by expanding access to financial resources for women, which will support South Sudan’s overall economic development.
