As a reputable entrepreneur in South Sudan, he runs multiple enterprises, including BrightStar Construction & Consulting Engineering – South Sudan, where he is the Managing Director. He also provides consultancy services in business and construction for the private sector and government bodies.

Mawien is a graduate of Victoria University in Australia, having qualified with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies.
